Uniting Lutherans in Tijuana: A Journey of Collaboration and Hope
See what's cooking in Tijuana on a typical Friday evening at one of our missionaries' home. But beyond a simple meal on an ordinary day, something truly special is unfolding by the grace of God. And we're eager to share it with you. Listen in.
When the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego recognized that our mission should extend not only to San Diego County but also to the mission field south of our border, we quickly discovered two churches and three missionaries ready to collaborate with us. Each of them has been making remarkable advancements in their respective calls and contexts, progressing step by step.
Yet, one challenge emerged that we began to pray over and plant seeds to address: the lack of unity and collaboration among them. These groups had little knowledge of each other, and there was history behind their distance. As we brought them together to connect with us, we could already see the potential for their relationship. Witnessing them come together organically, without direct stimulus from us, is a small victory that we celebrate, hopeful that it marks only the beginning of a fruitful partnership.
Tijuana has no idea what’s coming as the Lutherans collaborate to reach the city.
