Empowering Oromo Ministry: Journey with Vicar Dawa Jarso

Every Sunday Vicar Dawa Jarso leads a vibrant Oromo ministry in San Diego, embracing the rich language and culture of Ethiopia's largest ethnic group.

Currently pursuing theological studies to become a Lutheran Pastor at the Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology (Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis), Dawa brings a deep commitment to serving his community sharing the gospel.

Partnering with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Oromo ministry has encountered not just the location but the family support system to blossom and be a blessing to many in our region.

The Lutheran Mission Society San Diego, alongside Pastor Dave Weber from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Pacific Southwest District, is dedicated to mentoring and developing missionary Dawa Jarso and his leadership team. Together, we're fostering a strong relationship between the Oromo ministry and its “nest” congregation.
