Alexander Parker's Journey to Ministry at Concordia University Irvine

We've got some fantastic news to share with you today! Alexander Parker has been accepted into the Cross-Cultural Ministry Center (CMC) at Concordia University Irvine.

Alexander serves as a DCE at Concordia Lutheran Church in Chula Vista. His dedication and passion for serving others have truly set him apart, and it's no wonder he's been chosen for this prestigious program.

Come next semester, Alexander will be diving headfirst into his training, embarking on a journey that's bound to shape and enrich his ministry for years to come. And get this—he'll even be developing a brand new ministry right here in San Diego!

We're thrilled to announce that the LMSSD has already jumped on board to support Alexander in this incredible venture. With his addition to our team of missionaries, we're confident that our collective efforts will reach new heights.

So, let's give a big round of applause to Alexander for being accepted and ensure that we keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he navigates his studies and spearheads the development of a new ministry!

Hear what Alex shared in the latest newsletter from Concordia Lutheran Chula Vista:

"Earlier this year, both Kelsey and I began to feel that God might be calling us to do something new and different. Specifically that God was calling me to start training to become a pastor.

We investigated the different routes to do that, applied, and I’ve been accepted into a seminary program. This seminary program specifically trains missional pastors to do outreach in their local contexts.

So what does that mean? It means in four years, I will be eligible to be a pastor. But in the more immediate sense, much of what you see here at Concordia will look the same. I will still be here day to day, doing a lot of what I normally do. I will be a pastor intern for those 4 years, so you’ll see me doing a bit more up front too.

As far as classes, I’ll be taking classes online at night, and I’ll also be developing a new ministry that reaches out to the underserved and the unchurched.

So please pray for me, and please pray for Kelsey, because for four years I will be very busy with classes and homework.

Blessings,

Alex."
