New Ministry: Karen Swift

This May 4, 2024, marks the official launch of a new ministry born from the dedication of our missionaries at the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego.

Deaconess student Karen Swift, a missionary supported by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pacific Beach, led a special Mother’s Day Bible Study in Spanish at Iglesia Luterana Cristo Redentor in East Tijuana.

Karen's passion for sharing God's Word in Spanish brings a powerful ministry to all LCMS congregations in San Diego County and south of the border. Her expertise and dedication create a bridge to Spanish-speaking communities, spreading the message of love and faith.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Diani Voss, mission coordinator at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church (Pacific Beach), and Kedma Wenz, worship leader from Emanuel Lutheran Church (Santa Barbara), for their unwavering support of Karen's mission and for their partnership with our LMSSD.

Special thanks to Rev. Job Jimenez, Pastor of Iglesia Luterana Cristo Redentor in Tijuana, for graciously hosting this event and sharing the love of Christ with the local community.

The impact of today's ministry was palpable, fueling our commitment to recruit and deploy local missionaries connected to congregations. Together, we continue to spread the light of God's love far and wide. #MinistryLaunch #SpreadTheWord #CommunityOutreach
